Mini-PhD

Food Science & Nutrition

2023

Overview

The theme of this programme was linked with the third goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 - Good health and well-being.

This programme included different two projects from which the participating universities may choose.

The first project was an office-based project in which students got the opportunity to learn how to write a systematic review (and perform a meta-analysis; where applicable) related to sports and nutrition. The themes involved were (i) protein and amino acids supplementation, (ii) polyphenol supplementation, and (iii) supplementation strategies for athletes.

The second option was a practical project in which students performed a human study (i.e., clinical trial) to investigate the effect of selected dietary supplements on CrossFit® exercise performance.
